Dodgers at Arizona: What to Watch.

Wrobleski vs Rodríguez, first pitch 1:10. Today decides the season series — plus where to watch in LA and which Dodgers food deals actually apply.

Today is the thirteenth, and it settles it.

Whoever wins this afternoon takes the season series — and with it the head-to-head tiebreaker, the thing nobody thinks about in August and everybody thinks about at the end of September.

Expect the roof closed. Phoenix is forecast into triple digits, and Chase Field shuts up shop when it gets like that.

Four things worth watching.

1. Wrobleski's splits are backwards, and that matters today.

Arizona hits left-handed pitching well and is expected to run out a lineup stacked with right-handed bats.

Normally that is a problem for a lefty.

Wrobleski is not a normal lefty. He has held right-handed hitters to .220/.262/.354 this season — reverse splits, meaning the platoon advantage Arizona thinks it has may not be one. The Dodgers have won 12 of his 18 starts.

2. Nobody is scoring.

Two games in Phoenix have produced five total runs.

The Dodgers have three of them.

Arizona left fifteen men on base on Saturday alone and still lost 2-1 in extras. Both offenses are getting runners aboard and stranding them. If that pattern holds a third day, this is decided by one swing or one mistake.

3. Rodríguez is coming off a bad one.

His last outing went seven runs on eleven hits.

A 2.71 ERA says that was the outlier. Whether it was is the question the Dodgers get to answer, and they have the lineup to press it — Shohei Ohtani carrying a .952 OPS with 26 home runs, Freddie Freeman at .862, Max Muncy at .834.

4. The streak is over, but barely.

Saturday's win snapped a seven-game skid that included being swept at home by Boston and swept at Wrigley by the Cubs.

A first-place team does not usually need a Sunday game in Phoenix to feel like a referendum.

This one does.

Watching it in Los Angeles.

It is a 1:10 start, which changes the calculation. This is a lunch game, not a night out — patios, day drinking, and places that will actually have the sound on before the afternoon crowd arrives.

Uber Eats — new this season, a discount tied to a Dodgers road win. This is the one that could actually trigger today.

So the honest version: a road game narrows the field.
